Transmission install done, but is it correct?

Pretty much finishing up installation now.

All except my help now tells me that the fork should not be in the position that it is?

Anyone have any input? The fork is all the way towards the passenger side.

Thanks as usual,

- Phil

Unbolt the slave cylinder then push the fork the other way to engage the bearing. Then install the slave.

Unless they borked up the retaining ring on the pressure plate, in which case pound sand.

Is it a brand new clutch? Brand new disk? Brand new flywheel? Or is the whole combo new? Your pressure plate fingers are overstretched or you dont have the throwout bearing seated in the pressure plate.

New pressure plate, new release bearing, new clutch disc, resurfaced flywheel.

Took out the slave, believe I engaged the throwout bearing, reinstalled the slave, but it is sitting in the same position.

Its an ACD with the Monoloc clip.

You got the disk springs facing towards the drivers side right?

If everything is correct, like I mentioned above, its either the pressure plate fingers are over stretched or the throwout bearing is not seated right in the monoloc.

It can also be the thickness of the disk, what clutch are ya using

Ah, this happened to me too... If you can't get the slave to seat on the monoloc collar better pull that trans again...

It may take a little more effort to seat the throwout bearing when using a monoloc. I did this a week or so ago and what I did is slip a deepwell socket over the throwout arm to give myself a little more leverage. Then I gave it a big yank and heard a loud snap. After that everything was well with the world.

Look at #73 - that is absolutely wrong. OP, you must pull the throwout arm toward the driver's side fender to engage the throwout bearing
