Evo VIII chokes with BOV

Hey guys, I recently bought an aftermarket BOV (Forge) and it really sounds nice and I'm not loosing any boost or anything as I have read that others do. But one thing that happens often is that after I'd drop it into neutral from the higher gears (3-5) OR press the clutch and keep it in gear, the car chokes. It seems as if I turned the car off (kept it in the on position with all of the lights glowing) and then started it back on. This happens in about 1-2 seconds but I don't touch the key or ignition or anything. Sometimes it just even dies and I have to manually start it back up, which very dangerous because when it's in the ON position I can't turn the wheel very well and I'm rolling at 45 mph. Please help!

The major thing you didnt mention is, did you go VTA--vent to atmosphere? If so, no bueno.

Nope. All of the hoses are hooked up just like the directions told me.

that is usually a tune related issue, i have had it in the past as i would downshift or pop it into neutral rpms would drop and stall, and then get to turn with no power steering. its not fun, but its fixable within the tune

Is the tune going to help that much? He is still venting to atmosphere and running a MAF.
He needs to recirculate that BOV.

Vent to atmosphere means that when your bov releases the charged air, it releases to the open air, and not back into your intake

If it isnt VTA, others have installed them backwards as well. But as posted a pic is worth a thousand words--

definietly a VTA thing. I run a VTA HKS super Racing BOV and it does this. because the computer things your running a recirculated BOV/diverter valve/by pass valve its going to send the amount of fuel needed when letting off the throttle. I've been running this with my car and my Impreza. the reaction is normal BECAUSE its a VTA. most people will tell you to run recirculated because its better for the car. IMO i'll stay to VTA. I get ricer points for it.

Cool story, his car is shutting off while drive and said it has become dangerous. Cool points or not he wants a solution, OP solution is to get the stock DV back in there or somehow get the BOV recirculating again. That or go MAP

Yea guys it is a VTA. The air just shoots off into the air. So there's nothing I can do about it except getting it tuned?
