Spark Plugs help for E6 : ngk IGR7A i r
Hi there
I am in the process of doing a service and changing plugs.
I have already purchased some ngk IGR7A i r plugs for the Evo 6 (260kwatw).
Are these plugs any good and can they handle 260kwatw ?
Do they need to be regapped ?
You feedback is appreciated
Thnx

Yup, they will handle the horsepower just fine. They are expensive as far as plugs go (BPR7ES are cheaper, even BR7EIX if you need iridium) and you can easily damage the tips when gapping them. Whether or not you need to gap depends on what boost/mods you have and the gap the plugs come with. Start at .028 inches and if you get a misfire on boost work your way down to .024-.020.
The advantage of iridium plugs is that they shouldn't need to be changed up to 60000 miles or so, but since most people change plugs much more often that benefit is lost. So, maybe platinum or even coppers next time?
Good luck with the maintenance.
