aem air intake?

well im at the point were im ready to start doing a few bolt ons to the car. I just picked up an AMS licp, searching for an AMS uicp, and doing some lite research on air intakes. AEM has caught my eye and was wondering if anyone else has used there system, and if they like it or not. reasons why for both sides would be nice. thanks in advance!

I have used the AEM system on my IX RS for 3 years. Works great and I have no issues. Honestly, I would say its mostly for sound as I'm not sure I truly picked up anything substantial on the dynapack.

It does come with a faux heat-shield which may work with stock IC piping. But, will not work with aftermarket stuff...maybe.

Anyway, if you have $120 to spend and want some cool noise, go for it! Otherwise a Cosworth drop-in filter will do just fine

Good luck,
Erik

I have one on my car as well but my tuner thinks it may be robbing me of power (that along with the stock o2 housing). But I don't have any issues with it. It works! lol

I bought a used one for cheap off here without the heat shield. It was kind of a pain to put on for some reason. But I like the way it looks in there and seem to help the spool time and flow better but I also had a stock intake and filter in there before. It really changes the way the car sounds. I love the way it sounds when it starts to spool up.

Good call on the AEM intake. I have one and been rocking it for 3 years. Love it. Increased spool time and I get a cool sound. Lol Cheers

I've been running the short ram since 2007, no complaints. Does have a nice sound, but I liked the fact that it's oil-free & a full synthetic so easy to clean. And the heat shield does work with the stock IC piping.

Why pay the extra money for something like that when a maf adapter and perrin filter is cheaper and better.
