Evo + Snow = Fun??
Evo + Snow = Fun??
I've always wanted to take my Evo to the snow but I don't get much snow here. This year I'll be taking her to the snow tho. My question is anything special I should do in preparation? I have decent tires on there. 90% tread left. Eagle Gt all season. Snow tires really recommended or will I be ok with these. Thanks. Also if you have pics of you and your Evo playing in the snow don't be shy share them. I will once I go. Lol. Cheers.
All seasons = no seasons, but if it's only a one-time trip you'll be taking you probably won't want to buy winter tires just for the occasion.
Regarding prep, not really that I can think of. Afterwards you may want to rinse off the underbody as best you can with a pressure washer for instance to get rid of the snow and any salt/abrasives that may be used on the roads where you'll have traveled.
Couple pics of mine playing in the snow:
Long driveway to my uncle's cottage

Track that opened up during the winter for lapping on snow/ice.

What track is that that's open in the winter? I see you're from Canada. I've been to Mosport on my motorcycle and dying to try Calabogie just not a fan of the noise restrictions.
Haven't been to mosport but I've gone to Calabogie twice and I love the track.
Make sure you have correct spacers or no spacers(https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...roper-way.html)

One time I forgot to spray all of the packed-in snow out of my wheels and it froze overnight. You don't want that to happen unless you like chiseling ice, haha. Then you can spray off the underside at the same time
I wouldn't bother with snow tires if it's just for one trip. Just be careful. Find a parking lot or somewhere to mess around to get a feel for how the car reacts.
