I noticed a big difference with blizzak snow tires. However, I'm running on Eagle GT all weather and they got me through 12+ inches of snow like in my video posted above.

The difference between my Conti DWs and Dunlop snow tires is night and day. Stops and corners way better in snow. Don't know if the difference between all-seasons/ dedicated snows would be as dramatic

Haven't seen asphalt here in Michigan for several weeks this winter and the Blizzaks are unbelievable. There's a huge difference from the all-season tyres when the temps drop below -20F as we've had here. No comparison with the dedicated winter-rubber on stopping distance and driveability on unshovelled snow/ice roads

Seconding what Activ8 said, also a Michigander, my General Altimax Arctic's are amazing. Snow and cold is no problem with these things. I actually hope for a lot of snow so I can have a little fun haha

-- this is like 6-7 inches of wet packed snow this past weekend.

Love the pics, gotta get around to taking pics of mine. Only had it for a month, but the blizzaks that came on it are great in the southwest corner of Michigan.
