Anyone on here seen the movie "born to race" well I noticed the kid with the evo ix in the beginning (I say kid because every person in the movie owns a 50-60 thousand dollar car after mods somehow and is only 17) he had foglights in the two little holes in the front bumper..is that oem? I have an evo 9 now but I put on the Viii bumper so I wouldn't know. I thought that was a cool touch on the ix bumper, can anyone confirm it's oem? Anyway it was a great movie overall just wondering about that front bumper..

 

I've personally never seen it like that, so I don't think it's OEM. However, I'm sure the more experienced guys on the forum can chime in more on it. Great movie by the way in my opinion! I liked it at least!

 

I've been into the Evo game since I was a kid, and the only fogs that the Evo IX had was in the headlights. It must of been an aftermarket job.

 

That's what I was thinking ya..because there's the three lights in the original housing and I always assumed the inner ones were meant to be the fog lights..and right st0mp it was def a great movie I hear they will be making a number 2 I think there's already a trailer out.

 

I have seen people use cheap pep boys fog lights in the holes toward the bottom of the bumper, I don't see why it would be hard just measure the diameter of the hole and look up fog lights that size, you can also run the power from your oem fog lights so they both turn on when you use the oem

 

From what I remember, those ovals on the ix bumper were to allow cool air to flow over the intercooler piping, and never had or were meant for fogs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Yup, the ducts were designed to force cool air onto IC piping. Not intended for fogs

 

Not intended for fog lights the entire front bumpers for the eights and the nines has airflow design in mind for cooling purposes.
