Take it back and tell them that is unacceptable. If you need to, call the insurance company and get them involved. It shouldn't have even left the shop looking like that.

 

I can't believe the guy at the body shop could even look you in the eye when he gave you back your car. Usually they go through their 'repairs' with the owner of the car before returning it and I can't imagine that they didn't notice the difference themselves.

That is unacceptable. If they give you any issues, hopefully you have a decent insurance agent who will step up and make things right.

Don't pay them a penny to fix it either. It was their mistake, not yours.

 

While it may actually be the correct color code your original paint could have faded from the sun over the years and lightened up. Typically they will blend the colors to make it unnoticeable to the naked eye but this was clearly not the case.

Moral of the story take it back and have them fix it!

 

They did what a ton of shops do, they simply pull the color code and spray that color.

However, the yellow and red that Mitsubishi used is highly susceptible to sun fade, so the shop needed to color match the paint, rather than go by paint code.

Long story short, they did a half *** job on your car and you have EVERY right to take it back and make them re-do it. As they were paid by your insurance company, they were paid IN FULL to do a PROPER job on your car, which they did not do. Demand they re-spray the work they did. Report back here once you talk to them further.

 

yep, take it back. They did this to the front clip of my WW one time and I made them do the whole thing over. It wasn't near as obvious as yours either. That's unbelievable someone would let that car go out of the shop like that.

 

Sun fade, your old yellow paint is aging and beat up from the sun and the new door is well, new. Hes gotta blend everything in

 

God that paint job is so ridiculous I cant believe a real body shop even did that. Makes me want to start my own.

 

Typically when a painter punches in the paint code there are variants (more black, more white, more blue etc. You would be surprised how many colours make up 1 basic looking colour), because at factory each batch wasn't exactly the same it varies minimally.

So it could be a combination of faded paint and fresh paint, but that isn't really a good excuse the bodyshop should be doing there due diligence and matching/blending regardless.

 

yes take it back and tell them to correctly do a color blend with either the front door or quarter panel in order for it to match correctly

 

i went to the garage and spoke to them about this problem
they told me that they cant fix it because i signed that im satisfied with my car's condition.
so neither the insurance company nor the garage will fix it.
now im on my own, is there any type of product that make this color lighter ?
or the only way to fix it is to repaint the doors ?

 

What did your insurance company say?

Tell them that your car was not paint matched and that you want it fixed

 

I wouldn't have accepted that repair. Since you signed that you were satisfied there isn't anything you can do short of taking it back and paying for them to re spray it.

It's not suppose to happen at all.

I think you will have to have it repainted at a reputable shop this time.

I have to ask, how did you not notice it at first when you picked up the car from the shop?

I had my car repainted after a minor accident, but I took it to a certified Toyota bodyshop ( for my Scion) so I can be sure the color code is the exact same. And when they were done, I verified the work myself before even starting up the car.
