it happens overtime with warn tubing and old tubing. I have had it happen a couple times. WOrse case scenario is if you have bad headgasket, that can also cause the coolant lines to burst or tear.

Yah i had a leak from my throttle body as well. I just picked up some generic good year hose from Pepboys vs paying out the *** for dealer pre-formed hoses. I wanna say it was 3/8" but its been a really long time so ide verify that first. Replace the hose clamps too while you are at it. Also if your engine did get that hot, you should do a compression test to make sure you didnt warp the head and damage the headgasket.

Don't lose any sleep over it, if you dont have the tools i think most places will do the test for 50 bucks.

How close are you to needing a new timing belt? If the Headgasket is bad its not that much more work to have the head milled and install a new gasket while doing the timing belt. Also headstuds while you are at it.

Don't get worked up over it. The hoses split/leak with age. There is zero reason to jump to the conclusion that you have a blown head gasket or need head studs or Obama is getting a third term or anything else. Fix the hose and move on with your life; if you actually experience any symptoms of an issue like over heating, ejecting coolant, alien landings, etc... then start considering more unusual scenarios.

He already overheated when it happened. That is why i was suggesting the compression test for piece of mind. Aluminum heads have a tendency to warp when overheated.
