What oil should I be running in my evo?

I have an Evo 8 with a stock block and a stockframe turbo, with full bolt ons tuned on 91. I read a thread about some guys Brad Penn oil jelling up. I have been running Mobil 1 10w-30 since I've owned the car at 59k now it has 115k.

Alot of people seem to be running 20w-50 and stuff like that.

Should I change the oil i'm using? I guess I'm just doing what the manufacturer told me but if there's something better out there I want to use that.

Stay with the oil you are running you'll never have an issue. DO NOT put a 20-50 in the car.

Insert BS SHAMSOIL plug in 3-2-1

run synthetics and your fine-- thinking the 20-50 is a little thick for the app as well.

BP gelling up was from someone letting it sit too long with E85 contamination. 20w-50 is for lose built engines so stick with a 0 to 10w-30 oil, BP and AMSOil are great options but it won't be long before a fanboy of either will post why ones better than the other

He's just a basher and the only person (if you search SHAMSoil) using the SHAMSoil slogan so just ignore the troll. Been using AMSoil and have never ran into Engine/Tranny problems yet.

Of course not cause it is the best. If you haven't been using it surely your motor would have eaten itself by now. Props to you for taking care of your car and using the best products available in this universe and beyond

Hell maybe someone will even post FP's approved oil list again too and state "This is all you should be using in your car" With no ****ing clue as to what they are talking about or what the list is really for

I see, it must be a personal issue with him.

I've been on these boards for a long time.

Any company would advertise their product as the best, duh they want to sell.

AMSoil if nothing else is a quality synthetic and works just fine.

He don't have no back up. He is full of opinions and no true data to back up his claims.

Even some of the smart people in this forum like TedB has explained to him how things work but he is so closed minded or smart in his own little world.

You mean Ted explained to you how things work. Data hahaha you've never produced ****. Oh yea a bunch of BS graphs from AMSOIL. What I have (on this platform) smart *** is 9 years of flawless UOA's, flawless engine, trans, TC, and rear diff operation.

But wait shouldn't my car have blown up by now??

Keep on grazing. I'll keep on driving.

Don't you have a Camry you need to change the oil on?? Maybe you should get on that. Don't forget to use the 2000+ ppm ZDDP flavor. It needs that.
