I have an 03 with 116k miles, stock block and basic full bolt ons, car has never been abused and runs like a champ. it has good compression and gets oil changes every 3k. The only thing i've noticed is a little lifter tick here and there.

It has a conservative tune and I don't race it, only get on it once in a while for fun. I seafoam it every once in a while to clean injectors and what not.

The only repairs I have ever had to do were suspension related. it's still on the factory clutch too. stock turbo has zero shaft play too.

Basically I'm wondering if I have a while left on this beast or not, I love my car and I don't know what I will do if it starts becoming a turd. I don't know how long evo motors usually last, or whether if it does crap out I should buy a new motor or just a new evo?

 

Anything could be fixed until its rusted or smashed(crashed) beyond repair.

 

some one on here has a thread and is clicking 300k.. so what exactly is your concern? By the way the seafoam thing is good to a point, but it only cleans the external portion of the injector since it isnt running thru the injector and unless your uning e85 isnt going to effect anything so save that money for future repairs. Drive on.

 

Damn, that is what I needed to hear. If my evo makes it to 300k I will die a happy man.

 

yea i seen a member posted about his evo passing the 300k mark.

 

You should expect at least 150k on the bottom end if you keep up on maintenance and really stay on top of everything. Im pushing 175k and had road raced the car for the first 50k miles.
