Obviously my post wasn't intended to offend anyone. Had the OP named the shop, I probably wouldn't have said anything, though I can appreciate you chiming in to defend your prices (and in a very civil manner), which is fine.

That being said, I DID say that I got a very good deal but still made it clear that it was not necessarily indicative of what a 60k service would or should cost in any given part of the country. I'm not here to promote one shop over another (which is why I kept that shop's name out of my post), though I will say that the shop I used is extremely reputable in Southern California, so I don't feel as if I sacrificed anything by going with a very good price, in this case. At the same time, that's not to impugn your establishment either. But the prices for the 60k service that I mentioned that I felt were fair were based on what the majority of Evo specialty shops in the SoCal region were quoting me at that time. So whether the prices in my area are what they are because they have more establishments to compete with or because stuff is just more affordable, that's what I was using as a basis.

I was given a quote from 2 shops near me under $700 for a full service (all fluids, and belts). I guess it depends what part of the country you live in lol. (They do evos, porches, gtrs, etc, so it's not like they haven't worked on these type of cars before lol).

You can buy a full service kit online for around $300, so the other $400 is labor (or bring your own fluids and get charged with labor).

Guys are you getting quoted for the same service? New timing belt tensioner, pulleys, etc? All OEM? I guess people should drive to TN and CA for service its far cheaper in your parts!

I would like to know where you guys are getting these prices??

I ordered the OEM 60k parts kit from a discounted online Mitsubishi parts site and it was 689.13 just for the parts!
And that is not including OEM fluids or labor.

I don't know about the other guy, but I listed what I was getting in my original post (driveline fluids, coolant flush, serpentine belt, timing belt, water pump and spark plugs), though I noticed some additional things included in your quote that may have accounted for a tiny bit. I had it done in 2012 and don't quite have the invoice in my back pocket at the moment, though I think there was one pulley that we also changed out, though everything else looked in order. We went with Gates belts though from what I remember, but I was given the option for OEM belts, which they said they would happily do if I wanted them to. I'm sure it saved me a little bit going that route (my guess is $50-60 overall for both), but from what I was reading on multiple Evo forums, Gates belts are also a very good choice.

Here's what the shop told me (of course it might be different then what you guys are getting).

Ok. We can take care of that for you. We can do the belt and water pump service as well as do a tune to eliminate the rear O2 code and to pick up some power as well. You will be looking at $640.94 for the water pump and timing belt service. That includes a new tensioner, idler and belt. If you want to do cam/crank seals they dont run that much more. Also to do a tune we normally charge $465.00 but if you do it all together I will do the tune for $300.00. Let me know your thoughts.

The 640.94 also included all fluids changed, I had to verify that in another e-mail. But I was just asking around my area to get quotes.

another thing you might want to consider is checking the vin number on various body panels to make sure they match the cars vin. A good way to find out if any body work has been done
