Took a girl out on a date last night...
I also had a Celica (except it was the 180hp Gts model). It felt good when I pulled away from civics and ricers lol. Now I don't even try. I often rev at ricers on the stop lights, then let them just zoom away while I casually drive when the light turns green. Lol that's so much fun, it makes them feel good and dumb at the same time haha.
The only time i get raged these days after having my evo for 4+ years, are idiots who dont use turn signals, cut me off, brake in the middle of the road for no reason, ride in the fast lane....while doing at or under the speed limit w/ no traffic, so unfortunately half the idiots out there.

Meh I normally ignore people trying to start stuff. They have nothing to loose. You'll end up with the drag racing ticket when a LEO stops you and there is no slow car around to corroborate your story.
Every once in a while depending on the vehicle I will stretch the legs a bit. If its a Vette/Viper/Modified Mustang/Camaro/etc/Insert any car above 40k brand new) then I may entertain it depending on how I feel at the moment.
But the older I get the less I care.

I agree with you here, I've had my Evo for like 2 weeks and I'm constantly getting challenged from civics to 750i... Im 32 and cant be bothered with it.
Oh to be young and have to defend your manhood all the time...
After 30, you just don't give a crap about idiots in (fill in crappy car here).
I own, or have owned, MANY high end sports cars over the past 20 years, and on a daily basis the idiot in a (fill in crappy car here) revs on me or tries to "start something". There's no need to react. Let them have their "I beat a skyline" story... Does nothing to you.

She probably would have been more impressed if you would have just let it go. Show some patience and a cool head. My wife's ex almost killed her doing stupid things in his Trans-Am. I'm VERY conservative driving with her. Been married 9 years and I've only gotten on it once or twice with her in the car. It doesn't settle well with her.
To the OP, this is a normal thing unfortunately. I had a Focus ST last night that kept reving at me... In bumper to bumper traffic.

that's great.
