Took a girl out on a date last night...
Pick her up in the Evo, first time she's ridden in it but we've gone a few dates before so we're pretty cool with each other.
Pull up to a light next to a ratty-*** beat up green Accord with a huge coffee can exhaust. Notice him and his buddy eyeing my whip.
I know the lane merges into one lane ahead of me so I try to just gradually pass the Accord and merge.
Of course the a-hole tries to accelerate (loudly) and cut me off so I violently downshift (cause I'm annoyed), pass him and continue on my way. As I continue driving, I apologize and then look over to her.
She has both her hands tightly grasping the seat belt across her cheat and looks wide-eyed/startled, staring straight ahead.
I start laughing, apologize even more profusely and I promise never to do that again without warning her.
Me: "uh, you can let go of the seatbelt now"
Her: "no....I think I'll just be like this until we get to the restaurant"
She's a good sport and we have a great dinner. End of story: I love this car hahahahah.

.
I kind of didn't want to but I could tell the a-holes were trying to start something so I just wanted to get away from that. I've only had the Evo for a few months so I hope this doesn't become a regular thing.
I think the sound of my exhaust at WOT scared her more than anything...

^ LOL...On another note I just chill with my car and open her up when it's me, myself and I. Last time I tried changing lanes in downtown Chicago and the thugs tried throwing beer bottles at my car.

Oh to be young and have to defend your manhood all the time...
After 30, you just don't give a crap about idiots in (fill in crappy car here).
I own, or have owned, MANY high end sports cars over the past 20 years, and on a daily basis the idiot in a (fill in crappy car here) revs on me or tries to "start something". There's no need to react. Let them have their "I beat a skyline" story... Does nothing to you.

+1. I must be getting old as well. I get revved on all the time. I just let them pass me up or do whatever. I probably wouldn't try to cut them off, they are likely horrible drivers and their cars likely have crappy brakes. I would say at the track is a different story, but those type of kids don't go out there anyhow.
Yeah at this point in my life I just point and laugh at them. It's ridiculous. The best one I ever had was coming back from the drag strip. Some guy in a brand new Subaru STI I beat by like a second comes flying by me at like 100. To bad he couldn't do that on the track
I am too old to this stuff anymore. I just hate it when they pull up on your rear bumper from a 1/4 mile away and slam on their brakes before they ram into your a$$, then tail gate you forever.
:)
Butterfly sushi. My favorite (and surprisingly cheap) sushi joint in Chicago. BYOB and a great place to take a date
