Whats the worst string of luck you've have with your Evo?

So I hope that I'm not the only one who has had a horrible past few weeks with my Evo, also hope I'm not cursed. Three weeks ago I hit a giant potole hidden by darkness and a lot of water and I had to buy myself a new $200 tire. Two days after that I left school at midnight and my car wouldn't start. After getting it towed around three times I found out that I had a melted connector or something. Spent $400 total to get that fixed.

Then, yesterday, I was again leaving school and before I got out of the parking lot my clutch pedal sinks down to the floor and after I pulled it back up it was completely stiff. Towed it to a shop (at the cost of $130 because my AAA free tow allowance ran out) and I'm awaiting word, but I fear the worst.

Anyone else feelin my pain?

I'm feeling it, I bought a wrecked evo from a different state. Long story short, it was in a lot worse shape than the seller claimed it was. And every time I continue taking it apart to fix it i keep finding more and more issues with it. Really draining money that i don't have an didn't expect to drain.

Every since I've gotten it. I'll take one thing apart and find 2 more problems in the process.

Not the only one bro.
Clutch went out and tcase. Had it fixed, then lifters collapsed from cam install.
Fixed that then found out tcase was leaking. Fixed that then couldn't figure out spool problem. Bought another turbo and that fixed the spool but oil leaking everywhere, fixed.
Did rear diff mod and stripped the aluminum mount.
now my rear diff seal wore out and it's leaking from rear diff.
Still haven't fixed. All this and about 1500 miles lol

Bought an '04 GSR last May. After 1 week it started having boost problems (wouldn't go over about 7psi). 2 weeks after rod bearing - $800 (to replace all). 2 weeks later motor failed - $6K (with new clutch and flywheel). 1 week after I got it back, t-case - $2200. When that was done, rear diff grenaded - that's going to be about $2400 (whenever I can come up with $2400). Tranny was also damaged when t-case locked up (at about 50mph).....

Car burned down to the ground and I watched and took a video while waiting for Firefighters to come and put it out.

Just read this yesterday:

http://www.speedhunters.com/2014/03/...ars-be-cursed/

Every car I've owned (except evo, knock on wood) has gone through what seems like a complete break-down phase: one thing after another after another. Just push through it and you'll be back to loving the car in no time

I'll just give you my 2013 with my VIII:

January: ACT HDG6 **** the bed, did what I should have done the first time and put an Exedy Twin in, $2400 with labor
April: NBD, needed new summers, $805, found bad suspension stuffs during install
May: Purchased suspension stuffs, $800, installed half of parts
June: Blew HG
July: Tore down for HG job, purchased parts, found out head was cracked, found an injector bad and replaced it, sourced head, overall about a $900 month.
August: Get car back on road, stops running right, find another bad injector, replace whole set, install remaining suspension components. $800 or so.
September: Dyno tuned, stuffed into the tire wall at the track three days later.

Planned for November: Rust repair, t-case rebuild, trans rebuild.

That car was cursed, but the problem inevitably solved itself.

Tcase inner seal, lead to the death oft trans. So it was trans and tcase at the same time. Went non acd for obvious reasons.
Also just had a crank sensor, manifold to turbo gasket and boost leak all at once

2 In a Half Years Later:

Loose 4th and 3rd Gear, It was my dd had to drive with 3 gears lmao

3 in a half years later:

Trans and clutch were finally replaced. I did it myself (Young and No Money)

Present Time:

Turbo is on the way out. I have a replacement. Also now since im older and have a really good job i can afford to keep the car in shape.

Do i regret buying the car and all the bull**** i went through? Not at all, that's what makes it fun and a great experience. I have learned so much and now i can look back and laugh at all the dumb **** that happened. I will never sell her she is my baby. She runs better then ever now as well.

been there before...
Had starting issues that lasted weeks after getting new tired from sears. they didnt listen to my instructions to remove the lug nuts by hand and used air tool and tore up all my RPF1's. I got an optima battery because I thought the old one was gone, but the car didnt start in the parking lot where I got the new battery.

Later after many part changed, tows, and errors I found out that someone at sears messed with the turbo when they did the tire change and one of the bolts dropped down and got welded to the starter body and positive wire (do know how the car didnt catch on fire).
A week after that I did a strong pull and blew a heater hose and towed it back. I wanted to make sure the thermostat was not the issue and tryin to remove housing bolts cracked the housing in half.

after that slight leak from the head gasket at the rear of the block (luck I caught that early) and when ahead and did timing belts and all.

all good now
