Hey guys.

I'm thinking of buying this stock turbo from the Evo 6.5 Tommi Makinen edition, to put into my Evo 5 GSR.

Would it be a straight swap from my stock turbo or will I need to do something else?

Howmuch is a good price to pay for it? it's done 80,000kms has 'no shaft play' and is in 'mint condition'.

Is it worth the upgrade as I will need retune etc? Also what else would I need to upgrade to get the car running properly with the 6.5 turbo?

Below are the mods I already have:

- Tuned to apparantly 260kw, I'm running 22psi via external wastegate atm
- Jasma full exhaust
- TiAL external wastegate plumbed to exhaust
- HKS RS intake
- Walbro fuel pump
- Stage 2 Heavy duty clutch
- Super sequential blow off valve
- Sard fuel pressure regulator
- Bigger intercooler

 

Don't buy from trademe, you'll get ripped off. I was offered one from Aus ebay for 450 + shipping.
Would have had about 40k km on it

 

If its the one I'm thinking of on trade me then it has the smaller 15g compressor wheel.

So the only thing it will do over your evo5 turbo is spool up faster with less potential for making power due to the 15g wheel.
