Just pass up on this dream buddy. The issue is cost and maintenance. I mean not even $200 a month you can swing? You may have to start looking at DSM's.

I was randomly searching all of CL, and stumbled upon this. Hope it helps
I contacted that person couple of weeks ago and he/she never responded back. I called the number and it goes straight to voicemail.

I make $600-$700 a month with my part time job. Being 18 and living with my parents I don't have many expenses but I use $200 for my bills and food expenses and rest I put into my car savings.

I dd my car right now so due to work i can put 1000mi/week quite easily.

I drive upwards of 3-6 hours a day. So if you do the math I fill up about 3-4 times a week about 45 bucks each time. 300 is conservative. OP did say he was going to DD.

well I'm not thinking about buying any mods or squeezing more power out of it. I just simply want an evo as my daily. Me and my brother do most of maintenance by our self so I don't think I will be giving any money to mechanics. overall I know i can afford $200 payments with the insurance i can get on an evo so $400. My brother is willing to support me on gas so i can afford it but i will be pretty much working to pay off for evo lol. Anyways man thanks for all the replies i guess ill settle with something less for now and keep saving up for another 2 years and hopefully get a 9 MR or X.

Would you be able to do a clutch job yourself? If you got to pay for something like this it can be quite pricey. Drivetrain issues, hope it never happens, but if you need to rebuild or replace a rear diff, transfer case, transmission, that all costs money, on top of the downtime so now you need to find an alternative means of transportation. Something else to consider.

just leave a cushion. the second you tap yourself out, disaster strikes. trust me. it's no fun paying on a car that is sitting in your driveway collecting dust. anyway, the car doesn't NEED mods. it's great stock. if you don't have much cash left over, then you probably won't be doing any anyway LOL.

i understand where you are coming from. i used to tap myself out to buy cars. for me, i didn't need anything else so i didn't need money left over. hell, i don't even buy clothes until they have holes in them 'cause i'd rather mod the Evo haha.

Can I suggest something? If you kinda want a sporty car but can't afford an evo and have 8k, don't spend it all on that infiniti and maybe look into a civic si? An srt4 perhaps to get you into the turbo world.

I do indeed want something sporty but then again as everyone is suggesting me to go for something reliable and more economic. That infinity is v6 and its gonna give me 17-19mpg because i live in NYC but only reason I am considering it is because of 40k miles.

I have another thought in mind which people over here might hate me for but is it possible to find a 04 WRX (Sedan or Wagon) for $8,500? My neighbor has it and he's at 160k miles with factory clutch. I would love to have something like that for now which meets my sports car needs and reliable enough to last me 2 years without any major problems.

My dad wants me to buy this 08 sentra for 8k which has 40k miles too and I know those things are reliable and will surely last 2 years without headache but to be honest with you guys I would hate to go to school or my work on a sentra :/ . Not tryina show off or anything but everyone at my school drives nice cars and even my co workers have EVO, STI and GTI. These guys aren't super rich but they just have more support from their parents and I just don't wana become a joke in my school since people make fun of others with basic cars :/
