A few years back, a friend of mine signed up there. He managed to get signed up with few places and plastered stickers all over his car. Only benefit he received was 10% off their products, but his car looked ridiculous.

If you want to get sponsored, you have to spend a considerable amount of money with a business and be exposed to the public in high profile settings (major car shows, competing in races). Companies aren't going to just dump money on a mildly built car that bought one of their turbo kits. They can buy their own shell and build one themselves.

They want you to attend car shows to show off carsponsors.com and the products they promote. They say if you enter competitions and win, they reimburse you for the parts you bought from them.

You have to be extremely dedicated and attend as many car shows/competitions as you can, otherwise it's not worth it. Most of the sponsors they have are cosmetic anyways (no major engine upgrade part discounts or anything).

They will send you an email telling you to pay $75.00, send you 2 stickers and offer you discount off their catalog which is marked up. Pricing is no better than buying from a vendor on here.

This. Sponsorship are like scholarships; you should never be paying anything extra for them.

Sponsorship doesn't mean free stuff, sometimes it means discounts, sometimes it means free things, sometimes it's a tiny 2"x8" sticker, but it should never cost you anything extra
