About to get my evo tuned on a dyno
Not sure if this is the appropriate place to post and sorry if it isn't.. So I finally got the my 05 evo mr pretty much ready to get it tuned.. I have an appointment to bring the car and get it tuned by a known reputable shop locally in 1 week. My mods consist of: 3" turbo back, intake and intercooler piping, front mount, bov, hallman mbc, kelford 272 cams, walbro 255 and I'm planning on tuning for around 24-25lbs.. Before I go are there any things I should do before getting it tuned? I just was reading something about the stock waste gate actuator is crap? Would that be a big deal if I replaced it and if so with what.. Any other opinions appreciated thanks. Also what kind of numbers you think I could be expecting?
The problem is that the stock wastegate spring is only designed to hold around 19-20lbs of boost on an Evo 8 turbo. You might not be able to get 25lbs on a Dyno because the spring might start opening which won't allow you to build that much boost. You would have to buy an upgraded internal wastegate like the fp one.

Change and gap your plugs. Make sure all fluids are top off and not leaking to cause trouble on the dyno. Boost leak test fix all leaks. Make sure your tires are in good condition.
Make sure there is at least 1/2 tank of gas in the tank and use the brand/octane that you will be using most of the time.
Make sure all fluids are topped up and NOT leaking; this includes engine oil, coolant, transmission fluid, differential/transfer case fluid, brake fluid, clutch hydraulic fluid, etc. Change engine oil etc if it has a lot of miles on it.
Tires in good condition. Wheels should be balanced and the vehicle must be able to drive straight.
Ensure your spark plugs are in good condition. Replace with new ones if necessary. Having spares is also a good idea.
It would be good to clean your engine grounds and grounding attachment points. A vehicles electrical signals need to be as clean as possible so the ECM has good signals coming in and going out. The engine harness should have no exposed wires.
Battery/Alternator – Make sure these items are strong and operating properly. A weak battery can cause problems when reflashing the ECU
Make sure that your intake, vacuum lines, and intercooler piping are sealed when under vacuum and sealed when pressurized like when running full boost.
Compression test if you want to be really prepared.

Thanks for the input guys. Is this a good wastegate and is it really worth it http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...cat=163&page=1 ? Just figure before I get it tuned want to make it right cause if I decide to get it after the tune It may kinda screw it up right
Get a FP 18psi directly from them and do a boost leak test as mentioned. If those shaft seals are leaking, there's no point in a dyno session until that's been resolved. If you have all those parts already on the EVO, I would hold off on driving it, until you get on the dyno.
