Turbo HELP!!!

Hi everyone!
I,m Dan, and I am from Romania!
Next year I want to start my first build on the car (EVO8) , my goal is 550-600HP!
Can you guys PLEASE help me with advices for choosing the turbine! IS the most expensive part and is so hard for me to take the right decision!
I am crap with the mechanical knowledge so please help me out.

I am not participating to any competition, no drag , no rally, just for my joy in week end when I am not working!

Please ask me anything if you want!
Thank you so much in advance!!!

Best regards,

LOL do they have E85 in Romania? Are you looking for a stock frame turbo or open to others?

Think you need to include some important factors like

a. Price range
b. Motor size
3. Fuel in country
4. availiable tuning options I.E Ecu opensource ect

Thank you so much for all the answers. I really apreciate it!
Forced performance is an options but to be honest I do not know many things on it and I notice that allot of people are using PTE so that is why was at the end of my choices.

We do not have at the gas stations, Ethanol (E85) That is only for racing, we can buy it but is hard to find and is expensive, so the fuel is normal from gas station for me.

Price range (this is the hardest problem) pffff max 1500$, because it will cost me allot the manifold, as I noticed.

I do not know many things about the frame, so I am opened to any ideeas that will not cost me a fortune

Im am running on 2.0 L engine!
Tunning. Just the stock ECU for the moment. I really hope that one day I will buy a standalone.

1- What octane do you have in Romania?

2- $1500 is not going to buy you a decent NEW turbo. If you're going to buy a stock frame turbo then you won't need to change manifold and downpipe.
As everyone commented, the FP Black is the best choice for a 500-600hp build without wasting much money... HOWEVER, now that FP stock frame turbos come with the SS turbine housing as standard, you will have to pay extra ($300) for the MHI turbine housing which will allow you to use the O2 housing and downpipe that you have on your car now.
With the MHI turbine housing option on an FP Black, you're looking at around $2700 + shipping.

3- The stock ECU is more than capable of doing the job. Some tuners feel it's a much better option than standalones.

Thank you very much again for the answer.
We do have good quality fuel here I think, 99 and 100 octane.

2000+ is quite over my bugdet damn it. that is why Fp is at the end of my choices , not because of the quality, is because of the price!

I found this on the forum:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...-band-out.html

What do you think guys!??Price is ok comapring to new ones, is powerfull...Are they durable???

I'm sure you already know this, but this is just the turbo. You're going to need a turbo kit ($2700+ plus shipping ) with the turbo... In the end, you'll be paying upwards of $4000 for a whole turbo kit.

The turbo itself is very good though. Excellent actually. It's meant for 700+ hp so it's going to be very laggy with your 2.0.

Do not get me wrong, I only know somethings because I am reading all dau the forum. But practically, I do not know many things, That is why I apreciate you so much because you "touched" almost any part from this forum.

I think, because I am only using the car for my soul pleasure, (not dragging, racing...) lag will not be such a big problem.

Can you tell me please, if I will buy kind of that turbine 6262, 6266, 6466... what I will have to buy extra??

You will have to buy an exhaust manifold that matches the flange of the turbine housing you choose (T3, T4, V-band), O2 housing, Dump tube, and a downpipe. You will also need an external wastegate like Tial.

Usually companies like Buschur Racing, ETS, STM, MAPerformance, and many other companies, sell all 4 hot parts (exhaust manifold + O2 housing + Dump tube + downpipe) as a kit, and that costs $2700 or more, depending on what flange you choose for your turbine housing.

Pffff, I see.

I will keep looking on the forum constantly for parts. Maybe I will find some of them for good prices.

With the GTX 3582R it will be the same problem??

The ATP GTX3582R is a bolt on turbo so you don't need the exhaust manifold and dump tube etc...

But it's still a $2000+ turbo.

A normal GTX3582 will need a turbo kit with it.

If it is a bolt on and it will reduce my costs, I definitely can ask for some money from my mother in low.
I did not knew till now that there is a 3582 with the stock turbo place!
Thank you very very much. I will make some research on this ATP because it looks the best choice now! (I think)
