New Flash from Mistsu?
New Flash from Mistsu?
Just got a check engine light that the dealer diagnosed as
Known problem, Mitsubishi is working on a new flash for the evo to correct it.
They asked me to call back every two weeks until they have it!
Anyone else have this problem?
I did a search, but just came up with dynoflash and other aftermarket flashes.
Living with the Service Engine Soon light for now. They didn't even give me the piece of electrical tape!

Did you do a search on 'cel' or '0300 cel'?
LOTS of us are having problems with the ecu throwing this warning.
My Check engine light is on approximately 80% of the time due to this cel. I have no mods to my car that should cause any random misfires!

Knock on wood. I haven't had that problem yet. Ya that 0300 misfire code happens alot on Evos and it's true that when you get your ecu "flashed", it does take care of the CEL. Funny, it seems that the turners know more about to take care of the problem that Mitsu. tech.

Only one tuner is claiming that their flash gets rid of the 0300. That would be the Dynoflash product. Though I am thrown that he won't say, even in general terms, how the problem has been recified. I'm worried that something might have been done that adversely effects the cars ability to sense real misfires. But that is just my personal opinion.
I'll wait till Mitsu releases their own ecu reflash. Shortly after they do, you can bet that every ecu tuner will be utilizing the updated code to base their tuning remap. That is when I will get my ecu flashed.

Fritz go to autozone and have them read the code w/ their obd-ii scanner. It should be p0300 or 301/2/3/4 if it's a specific cylinder. Very common problem and yes Mitsu is working on a reflash. There's a huge thread on it in the turbo/engine forum but it'll probably just confuse you so ignore it.
It's mostly blather from back when we had no idea wtf it was.

Do regular Mitsu dealerships have the ability to reflash the ECU? I mean to stock values or if Mitsu came out with a new base map. Second question: If they have the tool to reflash, can they see the current data inside the ECU? In other words, can they detect an aftermarket reflash?
Only at 4th gear right after I let off the gas,I have the reflashed ecu from dynoflash and still get the PO300 code but less frequently, the dynoflash makes the engine run so much smoother you wouldnt think this code comes up.I get no stumbling or hesitation...
It has to do alot with the gas used, In my opinion,....I use mobil/exxon from santa monica and the car doesnt pop the code for about 3 days, use mobil or chevron from irvine and I could almost always pop a code doing a full boost run in 4th or 5th gear when letting off the gas...
Using denso iridium sparkplugs, going to try new stock plugs...
Plus getting custom dyno street tune next month hopefully that will help,Too bad there isnt a way to adjust the sensitivity on that sensor.

I have seen the code while running east coast 93 octane, central US 93 octane, midwest 90 octane, CA 91 octane, CA 91/100 mixed to 95 octane, straight 100 octane....all different brands.

Also if I get an aftermarket flash, can I get the Mitsubishi flash on top of that
