New Flash from Mistsu?
With all the misfire problems the evos are having. The service departments are expecting a reflash to come out from mitsu. In the past anytime there was a problem with a misfire code mitsu would come out with a new reflash to fix it. So they are just going off of past experience saying that mitsu will come out with one for the evo. But there have been no notifications from mitsu that they will produce one yet.
Update
Ok, so my missing is getting worse, the car doesn't go over 75 mph it is missing so bad.
For fun I pull all the spark plugs and notice lots of carbon and deposits on the insulator. Clean the off and put them back in, no change.
Pulled the plugs and gapped them to .024 as reccommended above. I highly reccommend NOT doing this as it made it 10 times worse. Although it doesn't start happening until 5 minutes after you start the car.
Bought new Bosch 4r whatever plugs for the car and put them in. Car is back the the previous missing, but not as bad as before.
Anyone think I should take it back to the dealer or are they just going to tell me to wait for the "flash"?

This may be way off base but my Scoobie just had this same exact problem this past week and I just got it back today from the dealer. My injector for cylinder #4 fried itself for no apparent reason. It started out just as a little stubble around 2k and each day got progressively worse to the point it just ran aweful. The dealer had to spend a good deal of time before they finally narrowed it down to the bad injector. Probably is not related but I just thought I'd throw it out there just incase. It is odd that they way you are describing how your Evo is acting is very similar to how my Scoobie acted.
For what it's worth, I've had one misfire code 0300 and it hasn't happened again oddly enough after I took it to the dealership two months ago. I'm pretty sure it'll occur again sometime in the future. I don't see why Mitsubishi won't offer an ECU reflash in the near future after testing.
Strange update
After two days with the bosch plugs. The Check Engine Light turns OFF?
The car still misses on full throttal especially in 3 rd near 3-4k rpm, and 4 and 5.
Anyone know how to test a fuel injector?
I am guessing this is a big deal?

My car stalls out or attempts to stall out (I can save it by reving it) when I do sudden disengagements of the gas, out of boost, say 1/3rd throttle at 2500 rpms, instant ingagement of the clutch and zero throttle, rpms drop straight down...but instead of stopping at 800rpm idle it goes to zero, stumbles for a second and stalls. Typically happens it happens when its cold and im going up a hill slowly. I have Dynoflash and I don't think it has anything to do with the flash. Stock Plugs, Buschur Intake, Exhaust and Walboro that was added after the flash.
For others with the missing or stumbling problem, here was what worked for me:
Replace the spark plugs with new factory ones.
I tried regapping the old ones, replacing them with bosch platinum, taking it to the dealer. All to no avail.
So I went down to a local mitsu dealer and paid $24/plug and put them in and presto problem fixed.
Perhaps the CEL 0300 is caused by the engine eating spark plugs early.
Fyi
the plugs were factory gapped at .024 so my old ones must have been shot because I gapped them the same.
This happened to me at 5000 miles. No mods. 93 octane gas. Right after an oil change at the dealer.
Thanks to everyone who posted!

How many miles have you driven since you changed the plugs? I'm assuming you also reset your ecu when you did this?
I did the same exact thing....dealer changed my plugs, my wires, my coils. The light stayed out for about 250 miles.
I hope you actually cured your problem. But I suspect your solution will be a temporary one.

New plugs
The light went out when I put in the Bosch Plat 4's. I did NOT reset the ecu. The light just went out.
I have driven 350 miles on the Bosch and about 60 on the New Evo Factory's.
I did notice heat damage and lots of carbon on the Bosch plugs after 200 miles. They looked like they were 20,000 miles old.

Guys the light will go off after a period of non-p0300 error *****ing from the knock sensor. In other words, it's a temporary error which goes away once the ECU thinks the problem has been resolved. That's not to say it won't reocccur of course..

That is a thread in which we are discussing it currently, if you care to join us! I am taking action this week to see what I can get from Mitsu... in terms of an explanation.
