I have a Evo 8 with the SSS pkg and would like to instal a rear strut tie bar in the trunk and was told that it wont clear due to the OEM subwoofer ? is this true ?

Does anyone have the OEM Infinity subwoofer and has a rear tie bar and if so which brand.

In the factory placement, I don't think there is a strut bar that will clear it. It will fit but you have to remove some of the bolts holding the sub. It will sit back there a little loose but not enough to damage anything. That is how I've had my for the last 70k miles.

 

I had t remove the factory subwoofer to install my BeatRush bar in back, you can hunt around on the forums here to fins an aftermarket molded sub box.

 

the sub mounts to the strut bar mount, definitely won't clear it
