Crack 1 million miles and Mitsubishi will give you a brand new EVO.

It will be tough to get a brand new evo since they will not be making them any more by the time he gets that many miles on it.

This reminds me of an old "Married With Children" episode where Al Bundy managed to get his old Dodge up to 999,999 (or was it 9,999,999?) miles and Dodge was going to reward him for rolling into 1,000,000 miles with a new Dodge Viper.

Don't want to ruin the ending but Al didn't get the Viper

What items have failed on the car over time? That's REALLY impressive!

There's a thread with parts changed on way to 200,000.

But really, nothing major except for the build of the engine. Original drivetrain. Just got to keep up on maintenance.

Two things though, front wheel bearings every 100-130k. And I recently had to put in and ignition switch(the actual electrical switch behind ignition key)

Never changed the rear wheel bearings, they seem to be holding up.

I sold my IX MR at 180k miles. Every time I see your threads it makes me angry that I sold it because I'd be creeping up on 300,000 right now if I had kept it lol Very nice.

I'd take a million mile 8/9 over a new X that weighs as much as a Greyhound bus, especially now that they have even been fitted with the seats from one starting in 2015.
