For those that were in Vegas for the unveiling...
I agree, i see atleast 7-10 2nd gen eclipses a day. Also, i know back than the demand for the GSX wasn't that great, but today i sure do see ALOT of GSX's. Maybe on average 1 in 4 are a GSX. As for the newer eclipses, i really do not see many, other than on dealer lots.
And they sell fast on lots and by sellers, i should know, since i wanted a few, but they sold before i could take a look at them.

Yeah I guess for what
is use to you could say that the new eclipse is selling well, but I guarentee you that compared to the way the first 5000 evo's will disapear the eclipse sales are not even close.

Just remember one thing matters $$$$$$$$$. How much are they going to be? You can say 26-32 thou, but that has yet to be determined. If they come out at 30 you can bet they will not go through 5000 units all that quick. I am not downing this car at all, I think it's a great machine

3G Sales
Mitsubishi sales on average anywhere from 75-85,000 Eclipses a year. That's more then the RSX, the Celica, the Cougar, and the Prelude. The 3G has already outsold the peak years of the 2G, and of course the 1G. 5-10000 Evolution sales a year will be a drop in the bucket by comparison. Granted, the Evo's affect on sales will be more then just its sales alone. It is a halo car that will bring people in just to see it and perhaps they will then look at other Mitsubishi products and buy them (if they aren't in fact true Evo prospects.) Don't hate on the 3G, it is responsible for a lot of Mitsu's success and makes it possible for them to even consider cars like the Evo.
It's not all about meeting demand.
It's about creating a buzz about Mitsubishi's performance side again.
Saying it's all about demand with the Evo is like saying it's all about demand with the McLaren F1. It's impossible to meet demand, because the cars built a TOTALLY different way.

the EVO will sell out right away even if they cost 35k, hell my dealer already asked if i could delay picking up my EVO so that it can sit in the show room for a week or 2 (i of course said sure but only if i get it for MSRP)
