For those that were in Vegas for the unveiling...
of course the evo that comes here will be four doors. To make it into a coupe would jus defeat the entire look of the evo. Almost everyone is in the dark about the specifics of the evo. Mitsu been keeping everything hush hush. No one has exact specs yet. jus wait paitiently an you will see.

3g eclipse is a nice car but not a sports car. It doesn't perform and not even close in competeing against the evo if, it was a coupe. The new eclipse is more comparable to the grand am or grand prix. I really miss the older one's
. I've guess they've must of lost money on those due to recall and etc..

I like my eclipse!
As for people saying that the Evo is a sports car, I think NOT!!!!! Does it only have two seats and two doors, no! Granted this car if it comes here in full trim will be a Mustang and Camaro hunter, but that has yet to be seen. Just wait and see before we open our mouths.

I too hate what they've done to the new Eclipse.
Lets see a japanese car company that prides inself on Forced induction technology and AWD decides they are going to make a change to a there aging eclipse. I say hell ya the old eclipse is kinda raw and needs a little quality boost. But instead it gets more weight, no forced induction, no AWD option, a higher price, and some cool new commercials. Do they think that we are retarded over here. No wonder sales aren't through the roof.
Then they decide that their going to try what works and bring over an EVO with forced induction and an awesome AWD system and now theirs a forum and one of the hugest demands in pre order since they released there old VR-4 models some 10 or so years ago.

As for the Evo, I like the car, but I am just saying not to get hopes up too much. Mitsu has screwed up with power issues in the past and probably will in the future.
The eclipse attracts female buyers. The old eclipse probably sold much more and if they havent lost money on warrenty repair/recalls i'm sure it would of been more profitable.
They should of brought and assembled the evo here instead of the eclipse. However the 2nd gen eclipse did look cool I'd still perfer the evo at that time. I never understood why mitsubishi designed the eclipse instead of bring the evo then? Probably because the galant vr4 failed? I think by the time the 2nd gen eclipse, America was ready for the evo.
