Seriously children, the FIRST DIGIT of your VIN will tell you the final point of assembly.

1, 4, and 5 are US
2 is Canada
3 is Mexico
W is Germany
J is for... Guess what, Japan!

Go check your VINs. My old '03 and current '06 were assembled in Japan.

They wanted 26k for a 2003 Evo with 6k miles but want 23k for an 2006 Evo rs with 100k mile. I'm not a business major but this dealership seems to be smoking heavy drugs.

The 8 was high because of low miles, the 9 is high because they're getting more and more rare. Still too much tho either way.

 

I agree, the price on that '06 is way too high. I guess the '03 sold as its not showing up in the inventory.

 

But did they get what they were asking? I'm curious.

 

6518 miles of getting beat on, you don't have this as a toy with suspension and go cruising on the freeway. This baby spent those miles at full boost and pulling lateral g's....just saying

 

This isnt even impressive. Their was someone selling one with 2k miles on it and supposedly had it at the shootout.

 

That car you're talking about was beat on. It was modded, ran on race gas almost exclusively and it was only used for autocross, hence the low miles. The guy selling that red one is/was intentionally misleading buyers by his wording he used in his ad. The Evo in this thread was/is infinitely nicer and cleaner.

You generally don't know what you're getting with one of these cars unless you know what to look for and you know these cars very well.

 

That red car to me looks like a car that was definitely autox but more then likely in a stock class hense the totally stock engine. Switch for racing fuel, yeah more then likely, but still looks stock to me. So a flash and a little racing is cool with me. That's what the car is made for and all.

 

I do see a suspension mod tho. That's cool tho because I don't like the kyb anyways.

So you're cool with a car that has 2k hard autocross miles and was returned to stock, and car was being sold as a factory original stock car for $32k? Car had ported turbo and mani as well as an Exedy Twin too. The issue I had with the seller was he was selling it with the impression that the car was always stock and never modded. He even went as far as saying things like it never had run leaded race gas.

That red car was brought up in the thread by awdordie though, as he said the silver car didn't impress him. I think the red 2k mile car's condition is nowhere near as impressive as how the silver one that was posted here looked to be in. Yeah, the red one had lower miles, but it sure wasn't because it was being pampered. And being red and having had stickers baked on it by the desert sun for 10 years, that ghosting from removal will never be gone either.

Again, comparing the two- the silver one was in way more impressive condition and it was much more reasonably priced as well.
