Brake Fluid?

Hey Everyone,

So I just purchased re-manufactured Brembos from Centric and let me just say anyone that has faded brownbos and wants a new look this is the way to go! Anyway I also got SS Stop Tech brake lines with them and I was going to flush my entire brake fluid. Can anyone tell me what brake fluid I should replace it with? Dot 3&4 I would assume. Is Motul good? What kind if I go with Motul?
Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

I'm about to do this exact same thing and I'm going to just use oem stuff from the dealer. Motul dot 4 would be a good choice too tho.

I use ATE Super Blue (DOT 4) but it looks like it's now illegal in the US?

Regarding your faded brownbos, could you have just repainted them? Or were they shot?

Yes I could have paid to get them re powder coated at a local place, But by the time that is done its price is pretty high. At the end of it you cant split the calipers and paint them no matter how bad they want to do this because the bolts are TTY. So If you split them you need new bolts and if they get painted they will never be right again as in sit right and eventually will start to leak. So if you take this into account try replacing the seals without splitting them.... No thanks.

And if you get the new calipers they have a core fee of $390 so thats a good chunk you get back, and to top it off... They all come with new pads! So it actually is a great deal.

So you can tell when its fully flushed and bled fully. I love this!! I'm ordering some right now online. Thanks for the heads up. It's such an easy idea, props to the manufacturer for figuring this out, and poo on the federal government for trying to control every single aspect of our lives.

How many liters do you need to fully bleed the system?

Thanks for the info. Is $35 per liter for this stuff a good deal in your opinion?

Well it was $20 when I bought it, but it also wasn't illegal in the US at the time

Where are you seeing it for $35? All the ATE fluid I see is the amber colored version.

Couple questions:

Is this for a street car?
How often do you change your fluid?

Just about any DOT4 will do unless you need a specific boiling point, etc.

It's for my daily driver and when I flush the brake fluid I will also be replacing my malfunctioning abs "computer" that all the brake lines go to so knowing that the fluid is fully bled will come in real handy with the blue stuff.
