CT9W EVO wagon A/T upgrade

Hi All, I have just bought an 06 evo9 wagon, try search more details about this car but can't get too much infos around here. It is an A/T trans so i guess it will be the same setup with the EVO 7 GTA, no mivic , TD05-15G.

Anyway, seeing it as an EVO7 GTA, with the AT box, the first thing i have in mind would be a 2.3 stroker kit, or swaping an evo9 turbo in will be better choice? Not really want to keep the AT box so in 6 months will try to swapping into Manual as well.

First thing should be the manual swap before anything else :P

you should hit up the DSM forums. If your auto is like the one in the 2g GSX then there are alot of mods you can do to it, and its actually really strong. If you are looking for straight line performance then the auto could be an asset. A turbo swap will definitely be more bang for you buck then a stroker. Do the basics first then start tearing into the bottom end.

hi mate welcome to the evo wagon club! definitely an awesome car.

firstly what mods do you have so far? i would definitely do all the usual evo mods before going 2.3 stroker kit. you'd be surprised what power you can get out of the 2lt engine.

you are correct most of the running gear will be 7 gt-a, there are 2 trim levels standard and MR. which did you get?

Get an oil cooler and torque convertor

Get a basic ecu reflash and 10.5 hotside

Forget thinking about 2.3 and big numbers with that tranny for now

Just got a stock EVO 9 Turbo, going to put it on at weekends. Do I need to do anything once i swap the turbo? I have also got a manual gear box now, but just the box, no clutch peddle, no clutch. Do I need the new ecu as well for the manual conversion?

It is a Standard GT 5 speed auto. I find it is very laggy probably due to the auto tranny. It is fully stock on engine. I have a GFB Gforce2 EBC and going to boost up a little bit, it is only running 10psi.

Nice. I love HK and Evo wagons! Consider keeping it stock, pretty rare? Either way, I have seen how HK people keep their cars, I'm sure it will be awesome.
