question about valve.

I'm in the process of doing a valve spring and retainers upgrade to the map performance. My question is, is it necessary to change out my valve too? Or will I be fine keeping the oem valve?

you can keep your oem valve. I would only change valves if your valve seat got messed up or you had a bent/chipped valve.
