Helicoil kit. You might have to check your local auto parts stores.

Most people use it. If you don't have the money to rebuild/pick up a used head and rebuild it. I've never had that issue with mine before but trolling the forums people seem to have good luck with it. You have three routes; the one suggested above, rebuild it or buy a used one. If you do the latter two you might as well upgrade it. Port/polish/cams(HKS isn't a good cam IMO)/valve springs and retainers etc. Gets pricey but if it's off why not do it and a new head gasket as well as head studs!

If its done correctly by a competent mechanic, it will be fine. Keep in mind your head didn't strip itself and you will need to be more careful next time you change plugs--use an anti-seize, start the plugs by hand and don't over tighten.

Heli-Coil can be as strong or in some cases stronger than the original threads. You must do a good job installing them and I would be concerned about shavings falling into the cylinders so removing the head is a must IMO.

I would helicoil the spark plug hole as recommended. I would not worry about thread shavings falling into the cylinder, as they would be so small and just burn off anyway. This repair, if done right, is the proper way to do this. And no, you don't have to remove the cylinder head at all to do this, as the purpose of the kit is to repair the threads. If you were to remove the head, why not just send it to a machine shop at that point ?

hiner005 The HKS are not bad I've had them for a while and still stong. I am thinking of maybe getting some bigger cams. I do have in mind of removing the head but it is a decision where or not to rebuild my motor. So what is good for a rebuild.... Any ideas??? I'm have been looking at AMS performance. Thx for the advise guys
