Issue with AVCR

Hi guys

Id have liked my first post on this forum to be a more positive one but I'm having some issues with my Apexi avcr (Black type)

My car was on the dyno the other day going through its final setup and was holding its low boost setting of 1.6bar steady as a rock but then when it was taken onto the road for its final tweak it shot up and we lifted at 1.9! We also noticed when trying to set the high boost setting (2bar) that the boost curve rolled off around 6500rpm which obviously shouldn't be happening! How could it be holding on the dyno but not on the road?? The 3 port has been replaced as the old one was playing up previously and we tested the turbo with the external waste gate line disconnected and it spooled like a train up to 2.2 bar when we lifted so its not a turbo issue.

My cars on the oe ecu running speed density, spark-tech pro 12 cdi ignition, GT35R HTA,all necessary head work etc its definitely pointing towards the avcr.

Has anyone had a similar issue before or know what the issue might be?

Any help really appreciated.

Cal

We ran the car on the dyno again last night and bypassed the avcr reverting to boost control with the ecu. The car performed faultlessly so its definitely an issue in the avcr setup somewhere. I have a spare kit arriving today so hopefully we can chop and change some bits out and see if it sorts the issue.

My best guess is that the dyno is loading the car different than it would on the road.

Can you share your settings? what is the target boost and your duty cycles? Are you using the boost by gear function and if so what are your setting for 1,2,4,5 as 3rd should be at 0?

There is a lot to learn with the AVCR and took me a while to really understand it. It is a great boost controller but can be quite frustrating.

Im guessing some of your setting are off which is causing erratic boost conditions as opposed to there being a mechanical issue with the controller.

Get rid of your AVC-R (JUNK) and just go with ECU Controlled Boost with a Grimspeed 3 port.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Unfortunately i don't have access to the settings to show you as my car is at the tuners but we've went onto a 3 port and have 2 stage boost via the ic spray button.

1.6 and 2.1 bar. Car is now perfect on the dyno and the road. The avcr has been left installed as a kind of info display as it can still show all the parameters its just not controlling the boost. Ive seen many people struggle with them at or above 2.0 bar anyway so this is definitely the more accurate and safest option.

Cheers
