Interested in buying an Evo roller.. TIPS needed

Hey guys I'm looking at purchasing an Evo 8 roller. I've been looking around and it seems to not be easy to find a lowish mileage engine/trans/tcase. I want to buy a roller just so I don't have to throw one big lump some of cash at once. So purchasing the engine/trans/tcase will be one at a time over winter. With just a quick look through the classifieds, I can't really find any. So I'd like to know, is this an ok way to go to get into the Evo scene?

you would be better off and spend less money buying a running car IMO. Running evos can be had for 10-14k for high mileage 03's

The only reason to buy a rolling chassis is if you are planning on gutting it and building it up for motorsport. Otherwise you are getting yourself into a huge money pit that someone else has given up on.

Well, I have a brand new 6266 sitting in the garage. The plan was to buy entire engine over winter and build it, then when that's done tranny and tcase and have it on the road for spring. I just want a quick street car and it's a low mileage roller. I'm not looking to make it into a track car, just a fun street car and go to 1-2 drag events a summer. I thought it would be good going this route because I'd be pulling everything anyways.
