cant track down this t-case leak!

so i swapped out the med size seal that goes between the t-case and the trans and also the little one up top. BUT i still have this rat-bastard leak. looks almost like its coming from on top of the t-case somewhere. i didnt swap out the 7" o-ring on the outside, but that just may be it.

any input?

thanks as always gentlemen!

While doing a clutch job on my previous car (a DSM) I must have hit the rubber transfer case vent. Anyway, it started leaking. The Service Manual said it had to be RTVed in place. So, I pulled the vent and added some RTV. Leak gone.

i ordered all 3 o-rings for the transfer case. i changed all but the massive one that goes on the pass side. its just weird because it was leaking transfluid from the main one that seals between the t-case and the transmission. so i changed that and the little one up top. now they arnt leaking, and t-case fluid is coming from high up on the t-case somewhere. its very odd. might be overfilled and some just decided to come out and chill forever. lol

It could also be your ACD line leaking, did you use new copper washers for that?

well, had some more come out and join me on the garage floor. lol. i'm going to take off the pass side tomorrow to get to the massive o-ring. its like leaking out of the very tip top of the transfer case then running down. i'll get that sob one way or another tomorrow though... ahhhh.. sad face.

so i had the fun of dealing with the 10 or so little slipping discs that formed the lsd for the pass side.... someone could have warned me about that one. holy hell was that damn near impossible to do while the t-case was still mounted up!

anyway, it must have been either 1 of the 4 small rings or the huge 7" ring, because i got rid of the leak. and i also coated the surfaces with GM Engine Sealant(stuff they use on the corvette engine). yay!

but damn was that a challenge and a half.
