swapping out EDM evo 7 ecu for evo 8?

swapping out EDM evo 7 ecu for evo 8?

Hello, does anyone know if i can swap my 2001 edm evo 7 ecu with a evo 8 ecu, is it just plug in? Thanks

Its not plug-n-play, the Evo 7 UEDM is a little closer to Evo 6 ECU in pin-out.
Check on line pin-outs, to figure it exactly. Ideally you should not have to change your ECU: did it fail?

IS your Evo 7 LHD EUDM? In New York?

Definitely a No. Just as the cars look slightly different, so are the ECU's. If you really want to do this you should get in touch with someone who has done ECU re-pining before. Get the ECU pinout of the Evo 7 and Evo 8and compare them and you will see.

If I recall, you will need to get a regular Evo 8 ECU preferably from the US. Don't get the MR as those are different, and please don't get a European version because those are also different from the MR.
