Exhaust Heat Shield

So I had a buddy make an exhaust heat shield and long story short when I start the car on cold mornings it makes a horrible vibrating noise. I'm not sure if its vibrating on the lower turbo heat shield or something else.

Anybody got any ideas on how I can stop this from happening. Because it looks good and I'd like to keep it on if at all possible but it sounds bad.

I'm thinking if I put some washers or something on all the bolts maybe? it sucks cause once the car warms up the noise is gone so I have a small window of testing time.

Does the noise change when you touch the heatshield?

The lower heat shield has been known to loosen itself with time/age. Maybe that's what's vibrating and its not the upper one at all?

yeah I bent the heat shield below and the one on the left to be out out of the way from the silver one. I tried to tighten the **** out of the bolts and now one is stuck so any ideas on how to get that out? It turns but its like either stripped or just being really tough.

It's bolted to the O2 housing, so yeah, you may have chewed up the threads trying to tighten it.

To remove it I would loosen that stripped bolt out while I use a flat head and try to pry it out as well. When it comes out more you can use a needle nose pliers or something similar to fit between and pry as you are loosening that bolt. Hope this helps you out. You need to do it slowly. Good luck

If the threads are damaged, you may have to drill/tap a larger hole and use matching bolt to put it back.
