OEM hood air grille or CF vs FG hood vent?

Hello everybody. I want to change stock air grille on hood. I do not know i should place stock air grille or put an carbonfiber or fiberglass hood vent instead of air grille. I do not know disadvantages of cf or fb hood vents. If someone knows, please advise me about this subject.

I would stick with OEM. No sense in changing it unless you like the look of CF, etc.

is cf more durable than OEM? Because my oem is spoiled due to the heat from the engine i think.

There will be no disadvantages structurally, but the clear coat/paint on the carbon fiber/fiberglass will more than likely come off easier than on the oem metal one due to engine heat.

It depends on the resin the manufacturer of the fiberglass or carbon fiber use. There will be a lot of engine heat in that area so if you get something made with a cheaper resin system (some polyesters and vinylesters) it may not hold up.

I am going to respray the OEM piece with a high temp black paint (I did contemplate getting a satin black high temp exhaust coating on there too but that might be overkill).
