inside job, that what i'm thinking also and they want you to claim the theft through your insurance when it should be the shop's responsiblity. hope everything work out ok.

Did the security guard just watch them run off with a couple of Recaros? Was he an old man security guard in houseshoes? He couldn't give chase or get a description?

get an attorney to sue SHOP'S ins. comp., still gonna be cheaper than an increase of your rate if you claim to YOUR ins. comp.

Well, we had a meeting with the body shop manager yesterday, and the dealership has set things right. The manager was excellent. We have it in writing that we won't be held responsible for any costs, and the car was scheduled to be finished this Friday, so on Friday when I was supposed to pick up the car now I will pick up a rental. In addition, I can come down any time and verify that the parts they are using for the car meet my standards. If they don't, they will get ones that do.

In addition, the paint looks excellent (i.e. better than new). I loved the BBY paint, and its really got a good sheen now.

I am going to get a car alarm and wheel locks. Any recommendations? Any word on seat locks? Now that you mentioned it, the dealership I bought the car at (same dealer, different city) had their sliver evo broken into just after I bought mine, and the seats were stolen.

BTW,
The seat back is $1630 retail from the dealer and the bottom cushion is $1360 retail from the dealer.

Apparently the security guard was making his rounds, came around the corner, and there were people all over the place. It seems that they went for my car first. He went after them, but what can one guard do against that? There were people all over the yard breaking in to other cars, and they had a getaway car.

Like I said, they did have the police come down and fingerprint everything.

Inside job? Maybe, except that I bet the guy that forgot to pull it in is in deep kimchi.

Alright, everything is worked out with the dealer. Went up a rung on the ladder and got better service than I could have expected. Keep a lookout on EBay, etc, for the parts -- two seats, two tail lights, and a headlight.

I'm sorry to hear about your Evo. It really sets me off when I hear about stories like this. Everytime I read a post about "my evo got broken into" or "vandalism", I get more and more paranoid about just going to the store.

Do you have your car back now?
