Define "can't rev too high".

For OP, I made peak hp at about 7500rpm. My dynograph is in this link in the first post. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...e85-2-4lr.html

I agree on some of this. But when you say extras what do you mean?
Manifold? DP, o2? that's all basic and yea for the price of a bbk full you can get a hot parts kit and JB turbo setup, from a reputable shop. But once you go down that route its a slippery slope in my eyes.

next comes bigger cams, more fuel "most likely E85", .... spool, psssh, BOOM!! now you are on a motor build, then trans build to handle your motor. It just adds up. 5k-10k easy. “this just isn’t for me anymore”

Stock motor making 400-450 is my goal. But everyone perspective is different. Ill stick with a Red, Black or BBK F

FP RED/BLACK: $2000 + $200 Ported cover (Add $499 if you want the new hotness the Zephyr)
FP Mani: $250
FP Oil Line Kit: $199.00

I may be the exception but my FF kit + PTE Turbo + IC ended up costing me 4k.

To spend almost as much for a stock frame turbo seems ludicrous to me but I suppose it depends on your goals. If your goal is a fun street car you can rock a FP Green/BBK-Full. If you want a little more power to deal with those Pesky Vette's and Camaro's then a FP Red/Black or BBK-C would be the best bet (best with a built motor).

BUT

If you are going to start adding stuff to get every ounce of power out of it then you might as well entertain a big frame turbo kit with a properly matched turbo.

Thats my honest opinion. And running the turbo outside of its efficiency range like people started to do with the FP Greens, Reds and Blacks is counter-productive. Fun is more then straight line power. I've learned that the hard way.
