Mini Battery Kit?

Does anyone sell a kit for installing a smaller battery in the Evo 8? I called Buscher, but they wouldn't sell the kit without the battery that it comes with. Which is weird..

Anyone know of any place else?

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks.

MINI batt kit

kamed,
I have the Buschur MINI batt kit, what a great investment!! great weight savings, more room in engine compartment,etc...
do you already have a mini battery? if not, just get the buschur kit.

I am sorry, but i dont know anyone that sells a mount kit only. The only thing that you can do is make your own mounting.

Unless you REALLY want a mini battery I would suggest going with a relocation kit. Here's a link to one that's only $50. That's 1/4 of what the buschur mini batt. kit costs. Plus it's better weight distribution and ALOT more room in the engine bay.

I have pictures of this kit installed on my car if you want. I opted for the aluminum battery box as well for future track events. IMO, this is a much better option than any mini battery kit.

FWIW, I think RnR racing has a mini battery kit also.

They won't sell the kit because they're charging $225 for what looks to be a $86 battery. The Hawker ODYSSEY PC680 sells for $86 at Batterymart.com . I don't know if it's exactly the PC680 but that should be somewhat comparable. If you go on Ebay, you can get it for about $60.

Buschurs kit does not come with the PC680. It comes with the Xstatic Bat cap which sells for $180. Since you are a newbie, you are excused for the misinformation. Next time do a search first and get your facts straight!

I've posted this before, but I'll say it again anyway. If you live below the Mason-Dixon line, just go to your local auto parts store and pick up a lawn tractor battery that has the posts on the correct sides. Then put your cable ends over the square posts and tighten down. You will have a mini-battery at $19.95 that works perfectly. Just don't go leaving lights and things on for a long time.

I did mine home made style, it was easier than relocating the battery and less time involved. Cost for batter mount is under 10 bucks and a lunch meal for a co-worker for helping me do the welding. If you know someone that can weld and cut steel. You can purchase flat and angle iron from the hardware store (roughly about 2-3 inches wide) and just custom make your own. I don't have much tool though my air compresser was a good thing to have for cutting the steel parts. The aluminums one looked awsome but need special welding for that. Total cost for me with battery was under 100 and my battery is good for subzero weather.
