Hello Evo 8 guru - I just bought my first evo 8 like couple months ago as my project or weekend car. i'm slowly fixing/improving the car by one part at a time, she just got a fresh pain job. Can you please help me or guide me on how and what improvements I need to make.
The following are improvements which I done to my car:
1. HKS highpower exhaust system. (3inch)
2. 3 inch down pipe
3. flush out all the fluids in the car... tranny, differential, etc
4. Evo 9 Turbo
5. Injen Airintake
Future Plans:
1. Bigger InterCooler - (debating between ETS or AMS) which is the best option?
2. Tune
my Goal is to get this guy upto 300+ to the wheels. Can you please help me or guide me on how and what improvements I need to make to reach my goal.

welcome well maintenance you have to do it because you don't know if the previous owner did it or not. when it comes to fmic both of them good ETS and AMS i have an ETS 3.5 so its up to you which one you go with also don't forget to upgrade the lower and upper inter cooler pipes too.
throw a fuel pump walbro 255 and set of injectors 1000cc or 1200cc you should easily reach 300+

Thank you! yea that's true and that is the reason why I wanted to replace all the fluids in the car just to be on the safe side and regarding the FMIC this is what i'm thinking about..

One of the main reason why FMIC is first on my to-do list is because there is a boost leak somewhere, so i'm thinking it might be from the old IC hoses or couplings.

Just get a tune, you should be at the 300whp mark after that. You do not need a thicker intercooler, fuel pump, or injectors at such a low power level.
Instead of buying a new IC because you think you have a boost leak, go to the hardware store and buy the stuff to make a boost leak tester and find the leaks.

Ya to get to 300s if pretty simple. my first mods were boost controller, exhaust, and drop in filter with tune and that got me over 300whp and im at 6000+alt.
but definitly get the boost leak fixed first.
