transmisson noise normal?
is it normal to hear clunking noise from the transmisson when the car is jacked up and moving the front tires forward and back?

No. It should not make "clunking" noise if you rotate the wheels smoothly.

May be the axle shafts moving back and forth if you or rolling the tire frontwards and backwards. Are you just turning them one way and its clunking?
