Carbon fiber trunk

Wasn't sure where to post, but wanted to know if anyone has had any issues with carbon fiber trunks warping? I've been threw 2 trunks an always seem to have this issue, won't say the brand name, but I've tried reinforcing it inside with some sort of braces to keep this from happening.

Haven't had any issues with warping, but at the same time I don't have the trunk bars installed. My only issue is with cracked gel coats, but its what I expect after six years of Florida/Texas summers.

Have a friend with one and it is warped pretty bad. I won't mention the name but it is a name I thought was a really high quality CF parts manufacturer.

My friend got it used so I couldn't say. It was so bad the feet of the Voltex wing were sticking up over a half inch in the front of it.

I've always had the stock wing on even till I swapped it to an apr. My issue is when it warps it throws off the trunk latch so it won't lock when you shut it down. I've loosen the bolts before an moved it around but it seems the outside of the trunks warps too far out. im on my 3rd carbon fiber trunk above also have had taken them to a paint shop to get better clear coat aswell

? Why don't you want to mention the name? Why does that matter in this thread?

I bought xyz product twice, xyz happened, anyone else have this problem?

Seems like a straight up post, you're only sharing your experience to collect information.

And there is the problem. Your best bet if you have to have the trunk bars is a single RS bar (maybe both if you feel froggy).

I've always wondered that. I'd want to know if Seibon / KnockoffUSA / Voltex said they had made a good product and it still sucked profusely. What are they going to do, refuse to sell you another bad piece?

What warps on them? (you can pm the brand if you want) I have had mine on for a few years with stock wing and both trunk bars. Still looks the same as the day I put it on. Mine is "FDCarbon" brand they made them on these forums a few years back.

I think you should give the community something of value and state the brand.
It could help others falling into the same situation as you.

I would like to purchase one in the near future. I will be installing my wing on it as well. If you dont want to name names you can pm me. What kind of warranty do they offer?
If it is going to warp I will just keep the stock lid.

BINGO. Keeping the trunk bars installed warps C.F. trunks. Its happened many times to other members of the forum. I'm in the process of finding trunk shocks for my cf trunk as i type.
