If you don't believe me I work for subaru too...i noticed you have a wrx...an STI wing is about 500-600 bucks. Don't believe me go ask your subaru dealer.
no need to get defensive, the reason why i dont believe you is that i can't understand how there could be people out there that would pay that price for them... then again, as you said, that is a retail price. either way, that's crzy.

But they are lighter, and hell, you won't be sliding that much if you pretension your seat belt. I mean, they are tight *** recaros. Only downside I see right now is the massive price.

I read a few times on here the leather ones were supposed to be lighter. I had the same reaction as you, becuase I know leather is supposed to be heavier, but I guess it was all bs.

Hm, that's odd. I think the leather and sound system come as a package though. So even if the leather is lighter, you'll have to take the sound system too, which I wouldn't care for (and that definitely makes the car heavier than the normal version).

So you can't get stuff separately? That sucks . I really wanted the leather but nothing else becuase I wanted to do my own system upgrades. But I must say, the seats look AMAZING. There are pics in the Show and Shine forum.

Is it cheaper to get a custom upholsterer to do a leather conversion, or am I wrong?

Probably may be, but it depends on the material. Some leather is stronger and softer and can be more expensive than others. The material used for these seats is awesome, and don't forget it goes on the front seats, back seats, AND door inserts and what not. Still, I think you could possibly do it for less with a custom upholsterer.

You can always do it for less aftermarket, but... what will that void on your warranty?

It's pretty bad when we can joke about something like this. Mitsu, are you listening?
