XRS lift - STI in Europe has been compared to a M3 GTR and Porsche in the EVO mag. Pretty nice write up, just wish I had the link to provide you.

The most telling sentence from there:

The new GT3 was quicker round a wet circuit than the Turbo model by nearly 4 seconds and the Turbo ran in the dry!

Note that the STI was a spec C limited with 2 litre twin-scroll that was specially tweaked by Litchfield.

I would take the GT3 over both of them Such an awesome car. The interior isn't made of plastic like the Z06 or Evo.

GT3 has more power than the 911 Turbo. 911 has 400-415hp depending on year, where the GT3 has 456hp. If you remember the GT3 is like the 911 turbo, except it doesn't have AWD, lighter, and is tripped of all the electronic driver "helpers". Among others. The GT3 was referred to as a "driver's" 911. Nothing to help you, just you and the car.

Actually a local Porsche 911 GT3 dynoed at 380 WHP! Obviously the GT3 has some Clydesdales under the rear trunk.

I can't believe how some of you people claim stuff as if they were facts... GT3 is 380hp.. you're thinking of the GT2 which is the best Porsche 911 of them all.

Here's the order of hp:

Boxster < Boxster S < 911 < 911 x51 < GT3 < 911TT < 911TT x50 < GT2 < GT (not a 911, but the supercar $600k one)

Don't include the Cayenne of course.

What about the 993 and 996 Gemballas? And the Ruf's? Oh yeah, I was confusing the GT2 with the GT3. Thanks. Aren't the Ruf's and Gemballas pushing 500hp?

Dollar for dollar the Evo is the clear winner IMHO. Granted for $150k (GT2 with mods) you would probably already have the HKS 8.75 Carbon Fiber Evo and your own personal Race Queen Set for a year... Plus room for all three of them in the Evo cruising between track sessions..

It's a tough comparison, but one that shows this 4 door sedan has arrived and is no slouch! and is a bargain for it's economy and smile factor!
