Brother got ran off road in evo
when i pass a group of people on the right, i'm always watching for even a slight sign of anyone's impatience of the slower right lane... you can kinda tell by a car's movement and/or driver... maybe the car is swaping to one side as the driver gets impatient watching the faster left lane while he's sucking fumes from the slow *** car in front of him.. or his head starts looking to your lane watching for a chance to turn in.... either way at night i will flash my highbeams as i make the pass to warm anyone.. and it always works... ofcourse i wouldnt do it or need to do it if theres other cars in front of me

Okay, this may "hold match to blue touch paper", but this illustrates one of the problems with street racing:
Changing mental gears.
When you're racing, you're running with (even if "against") other car enthusiasts who are paying attention to their driving.
On the street, you're out among people who think that "automatic transmission" means not having to look out of the windows.
This individual came off a street race and right into the reality of public roads with his mind in the wrong gear.
Expect the unexpected. I'd hate to even start on a list of the stupid, blind, or downright insane things I've seen people do on public roads.
But just remember: The EVO has the best brakes you can buy. (Okay, at 80, the Enzo would be a bit better.)
That being said, I've been there, even without racing. An Explorer left a stop sign and pulled straight across the nose of the Celica. I had to "use" a snow drift to stop the vehicle before I punched a hole straight through that SUV tissue box. Luckily, no damage. It's nearly impossible for sane people to anticipate the actions of the driving public.

Actually my brother wasnt even there, just took the pics. And it didnt even happen because of the racing, i was down to prob about 75 or so, and was in the process of passing a group in the slow lane, not flying at all, 10 MPH above the speed limit. The guy just literally pulled from that group into the left lane with no blinker and all of a sudden. Trust me, I have witnesses on the Police report. So those innocent people were lucky i controlled my car to the median instead of into them in the right lane or it would have been that 70 yr old who didnt look or use signals, that cost them there life.

"Real quick, i had just smoked some RSX who tried to challenge me, was winding down after the race at about 80 or so. Passing a group of about 5 cars in the left lane of a 2 lane highway some guy just cut me off, old guy, like 70 in a lincoln"

no with truckers if u flash them they think you're allowing them to get infront of u, all truckers do that to them selves... it's a universal trucker code/sign or something... he he

don't flash those truckers though! I did that and they did just the opposite, cut through my lane and wanted to pass like they were faster than me. But, I think they just don't want to be flashed by the headlights and try to cut you off intentionally.

It is unfortunate that this thread was opened with the S word (street race) in the original post. Many members feel very strong about street racing; both for and against. This thread has little chance of remaining pleasant and the topic of this thread has been covered. I am really glad you are ok Hushcraft; your car can be fixed.
