Thats why I doubt they'd send over 5000 (a drop in the bucket) EVOs to boost image and only half *** them.

So at 30k they get 5k above the profit they make in Japan. sounds about right to me.

 

Where do you get this limited release number? Oh, and the WRX was supposed to be a limited to release, and we saw how that worked out.

 

There are countless forums full of info re: how many evos will come, not to mention several magazine articles.

Also, I don't feel that profitability is a primary motive for . The amount of R&D that goes into a car like this is tough to recoup with a limited production $30k car. 's real goal here is to improve their sagging image, IMO.

 

If profit is not their goal then why would they sell them for more than 30k. After the inital 5000 that are rumered to come here then may decide to send more, like scooby did with the Rex. As far as recouping R&D I belive that the cost ( total spent divided by number of cars produced) is around 20k us converted from Japan.

 

Could be uncle sam charging its tariff, you know they are going to get their share!
