Im having issues with my shifter assembly. My transmission works just find and my master cylinder and slaver cylinder are working just find but my im having issue with my shifter assembly. It doesn't seem to go in to first or reverse. i have looked around for diagrams but all i get is 2003-2004. i thought they would be the same with my 05 mr but its completely different. I have looked around but can not seem to find the right diagram or proper assembly parts list any help would be fine. again the transmission is working and like i say the cylinders are good both the master and slave. the issue is the shifter assembly is the messed up but i dont know what has messed up. if any one can direct me to the diagram or proper parts list it would be greatly appreciated. Im not a noob, i have looked around but cant seem the find what i am looking for. please help cause my baby is down and is my only means of transportation.

 

If you have an MR it's a 6-speed and the shifter is very different from a 5-spd car.

 

That's the big issue I'm having, I can find information on the 5speed but not the 6. The problem in having is it not going to 1,2 and reverse, and when I try to put it to neutral it locks up.

 

Just to be sure, all your hardware, linkage, cage, cables are from a 6-spd right? The cables are different.

 

They are correct, I've never modified the car. All hardware is still oem.

 

I realized the issue, I'm a moron. I removed the center Console and realized the issue was in the engine bay. A holding pin was missing. On a good note I learned something.
