EVO IX Starter OE Number

Does anyone know the OE number not the OEM part number on the OEM EVO IX starter. Trying to get a replacement for it.

Two years ago my starter went. I got a replacement at autozone. It fit, bolted on, but it was longer then the oem one. I had about an half an inch of clearance from my stock downpipe. I took it back and got a used one from the junk yard for my model year.

i hear people using the 8 startar instead of the 9. they say its pretty much identical but half the price!! quote me if im wrong. worth looking into!

I swapped an EVO 8 starter into my EVO 9 for trouble shooting, the only difference that I can see is the signal wire tab is oriented different. had to bend the 8 up. other than that, perfect fit. BUT I heard its no longer being manufactured.
