I can't be the only one thinking about it. I'm kinda tired of a analog car. I'm sure the rs will have all the cool new features cars of that class will have. AWD system sounds like it will be fairly sophisticated. Motor choice is pretty solid (2.3L ecoboot motor). Lot of unknowns still like performance potential, price after dealer mark up and possible new platform issues.
I've been flip flopping. I love my evo but I'm excited about the rs and the performance possibilities. Ideally if I could score one WITHOUT getting rid of the Evo that would be even better but unless I give up the Wife's STi it won't make much sense to add another sporty saloon to the stable.

I am seriously up in the air about it... only because I have a feeling it is gonna be expensive to upgrade... like to the point where, is the juice worth the squeeze...

I'm thinking that its going have big support and performance potential will be on par with the Evo X at a minimum (The optimist in me is hopping its solid like the Evo8/9 and around the same cost to modify but daily driver liveable like a EvoX........I knwo thats a tall order).
On a sidenote how the hell are you dude? Haven;t seen you on here in a while.
Ford is pushing for people to mod the vehicle. It of course has to be done with an approved company. They are sending stuff out to people buying the ST's right now, saying buy this access port. So I feel they will have a good amount of parts. That motor can produce 400hp pretty easy according to some mustang people, and its a 2.3L so it already has more room then the Evo.
Problem going big on these car will be the direct injection.

Interesting car.

Guessing it will be in the $35k-$40k price range. No flappy paddles which is a disappointment to me and it will probably be heavier than the IX.

i'm not a fan of the way these new generation cars "vector torque" or simulate LSDs by individually braking each of the corners for me
the evo 8/9 and the 4g63 is still the gold standard for turbo 4 awd on track!

It appears the knock on it is the power under the curve. I was thinking of the second Gen too. I need a year of no trouble from Evo to make absolutely sure I'm done with the platform. Its easy to look to another platform when you've barely driven your fun car. If i have no issues from now until next year then I will test drive one and see how I feel.
No chance, looks like a catfish in the front and has the appearance of the Egg WRX on the sides. Will keep the IX and for 35-40k this ugly *** car will cost I'll pick up a slightly used C6 Z06.
More room than the Evo for what? If you think that .3L will allow it to produce more power when modded than a 2.0L 4G63 ask the STI people and their 2.5L how that's going for them.
